About the speakers

Erik Tham
Head of Private Banking Product, MarketAxess

Erik Tham is a senior executive and expert in financial markets, securities trading and electronic trading technology with over 20 years of industry experience. Erik started his career in 1999 as business consultant at Accenture, where he was involved in numerous projects related to securities exchanges and trading technology.

Following this position, between 2006 and 2018, he covered various senior roles in fixed income e-trading at leading firms such as UBS Investment Bank and UBS Wealth Management in Zurich (Switzerland), including head of desk and market & technology expert.

In November 2018, Erik joined MarketAxess as Head of Private Banking Product with the objective to help trading desks at global private banks and wealth managers to combine highest execution performance with maximum efficiency.

Erik holds a master’s degree in Physics (M.Sc.) and is based in Zurich.

Riad Chowdhury
Head of APAC, MarketAxess

Riad Chowdhury joined MarketAxess in September 2020 as the Head of Asia-Pacific. Riad leads the growth strategy for MarketAxess’ expanding Asia Pacific business and is responsible for all business operations for MarketAxess in the region, including the active expansion of the firm’s relationships with regional and global institutional investors and dealers.

Riad was previously Managing Director – Head of Global Execution Services for Asia at Standard Chartered Bank. Prior to Standard Chartered, he held senior roles at ANZ Banking Group and Deutsche Bank, coordinating new business development and revenue growth with both Asian and international clients. He is an experienced leader in the development and adoption of e-trading technologies, having spearheaded successful global initiatives across both rates and FX.

Riad holds a B.A. in Science and Business Administration from Concordia College in New York and a master’s degree in Business Administration from INSEAD in Singapore.
