Founding Principal, President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Lowey is Brownstone’s Founding Principal and CEO. He launched Brownstone in 1998 as a premier fixed-income centric trading firm, focusing on investment grade, high-yield, and distressed corporate credit. He founded the Firm 25 years ago to focus on forging strong, trustworthy, and deep relationships with trading counterparties, while contributing credit expertise and liquidity to their needs. He directly oversees the firm’s Liquid Markets group which trades public debt with over 2,000 counterparties worldwide. Mr. Lowey was also a Founding Partner of Brownstone Asset Management, LP, an asset management company whose hedge funds invest within the high yield and distressed fixed income markets. Prior to launching Brownstone in 1998, Mr Lowey created and ran the high yield dealer trading desk at Bear Stearns Co.
Director, International Fixed Income Sales
Mr. Short has over 17 years of experience in both fixed income sales and private banking. Mr. Short has been with Brownstone Investment Group, LLC since 2020 and is currently responsible for servicing the investment needs in a wide variety of Fixed Income products, primarily for Brownstone’s international clientele with a prioritized focus on the APAC region. Prior to joining Brownstone, Mr. Short spent over ten years focused on Credit Sales at the Susquehanna International Group. Mr. Short also had spent three years at the J.P. Morgan Private Bank after starting his career in fixed income sales at FHN Financial. Mr. Short graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross.
Director, International Fixed Income Trading
Mr. Guardino has over 23 years of experience in both fixed income trading and research. Since joining Brownstone Investment Group, LLC in 2020, Mr. Guardino is currently responsible for providing liquidity in Investment Grade and High Yield Corporates, both for Brownstone’s international and US domestic clientele, with a prioritized focus on the APAC region. Prior to joining Brownstone, Mr. Guardino spent over four years focused on High Yield trading at Susquehanna International Group. Mr. Guardino also spent sixteen years at J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, where he started his career in 2000, in both a High Yield research and trading capacity, with a focus on private wealth liquidity in overseas markets and institutional trading with US domestic clients. Mr. Guardino graduated from Binghamton University.
