What has never been more important — in view of the market volatility in 2022 — is the depth of what Credit Suisse can offer and its ability to draw on the strength of its global platform.

What was behind the judges’ decision?

  • During the period under consideration, Credit Suisse in Australia demonstrated the breadth and depth of its one-bank capabilities across investment banking and wealth management. Among the case studies in 2022 were two Australian stock market listings, a private jet financing deal, two private yacht financing deals, and various public and private debt financing deals
  • Credit Suisse has highlighted its commitment to the Australian market with a number of key hires over the last 12 months. These include four new RMs, a head of discretionary portfolio management (DPM) for Australia, as well as a local head of wealth planning
  • While AUM in Australia fell during the period under consideration, the bank was able to book a strong rise in net interest income and overall revenue, as it capitalised on higher interest rates to build out a strong book of Lombard-lending solutions
