Noah Holdings

Best Independent Wealth Manager – China

Jingbo Wang

co-founder, chairwoman, group CEO

It’s a great honour for Noah to again receive Asian Private Banker’s recognitions in 2022. Noah’s core value is client-centricity. Survival being its bottom line, it has maintained healthy finances.

What the organisational change promoted by Noah over the past three years has highlighted is that Noah is a company with long-term objectives. It will do the right thing, even if this is the harder option. It orients business and investment strategy towards long-term value creation rather than just short-term performance.

In 2022 — in the face of market volatility and sustained downward pressure on the economy — Noah upheld its client-centric strategy, putting the customer’s needs, wants, and communications at the centre of business. It kept investing in fields such as technology, investment research and customer service.

Noah is of the view that the current macro-economic situation presents not only challenges but also opportunities. The global asset allocation of China’s HNW clients will become a major trend. The end of industrial globalisation coincides with the beginning of China’s capital globalisation. The wealth management needs of overseas Chinese-speaking client groups have been ignored — or at least have not been fully met — and need to be served by financial institutions that are familiar with such needs. This change of client demand is the core driving force of Noah’s international development, and equally the key direction of Noah’s current and future development.

What was behind the judges’ decision?

  • Despite volatile underlying market conditions, Noah Holdings highlighted its value proposition as China’s leading wealth manager. This was evidenced by its robust performance in terms of investments, asset gathering, and other key business metrics
  • Noah Holdings has made great strides in its digital transformation journey, and in its multi-level Noah Triangle service models, which offer better insights into client needs
  • The Group has refined and improved its open-architecture product platform which aggregates leading funds from a selection of major Chinese asset managers

What we said
