Best Domestic Private Bank India
Nuvama Private
Best Domestic Private Bank – India
Alok Saigal
president and head
Nuvama Private (formerly: Edelweiss Financial Services)
We would like to thank clients for their unwavering support evidenced by their trust and encouragement.
What was behind the judges’ decision?
- Reflecting the turmoil in public markets during the period under consideration, Nuvama Private built out — and raised funds for — its alternative investment offerings, including but not limited to pre-IPO equity, venture debt, distressed assets and low beta, and long-short hedge funds. Such offerings helped contribute to a sizeable increase in AUM and net new assets during the period under consideration
- Significant enhancements to both client experience and digital offerings have had a tangible result on operations at Nuvama Private. For example, client account openings which used to take three to five days can now be achieved in around one day, thanks to the expanded role of digitalisation in onboarding. Today, more than 70% of client transactions at Nuvama Private are executed digitally
- Nuvama Private has been able to more holistically serve the requirements of its increasingly global client base by expanding its shelf of offshore products, such as through its partnership with Bank of Singapore
