Ning Tang
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, CreditEase

Mr. Tang studied mathematics at Peking University, and gained a bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of the South (Sewanee) in the US. In 2018, he was awarded the honorary doctorate degree of the University of the South (Sewanee) for his outstanding achievements in the fintech field. During his early career, Mr. Tang joined Wall Street investment bank Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he worked on IPO, bond issuance and M&A in the areas of financial services, telecommunications, media and technology.

Mr. Tang founded CreditEase in Beijing in 2006. After efforts of 15 years, CreditEase has grown into a fintech conglomerate engaging in inclusive finance and wealth management. On December 18, 2015, CreditEase listed its online credit technology and wealth management technology subsidiary, Yiren Digital, on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE:YRD), the first fintech company IPO from China in the global capital markets.

Mr. Tang serves as the member of Specialized Committee for Funds of Funds of China Securities Investment Fund Industry Association, Global Leadership Committee of Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, Shanghai Finance Institute, International Technology Advisory Panel of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, The Wall Street Journal CEO Council and Fortune CEO Initiative as well as the financial advisor of Xi’an Municipal People’s Government and the executive director of China Mergers & Acquisitions Association.

Neal Cross
Co-Founder and Chairman of PictureWealth

Neal Cross is a globally recognized corporate, social and start-up entrepreneur with a long track record across blue-chip technology, finance and data companies. He is currently co-founder and chairman of PictureWealth, one of the world’s fastest growing wealth fintech companies and serves on the advisory board of Razer Fintech. Prior to this, Cross was the Chief Innovation Officer at DBS Bank, where in his tenure he drove their transformation into a global innovation powerhouse culminating in achieving the world’s best Digital Bank 2016 and 2018 and worlds best bank 3 times across 2018 and 2019. He has personally been awarded the world’s most disruptive CIO/CTO globally from judges Sir Richard Branson and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and is a regular winner of best innovation lab and innovation leader awards.

Alec Kersman
Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific, PIMCO

Mr. Kersman is a managing director and head of PIMCO Asia-Pacific. He is responsible for setting strategic direction for the region and leading a team of PIMCO professionals to deliver investment solutions and service to Asia-Pacific clients. He is an elected member of the firm’s managing director selection committee. He was previously head of strategic accounts for PIMCO’s U.S. global wealth management business and before that, the head of PIMCO’s Latin America business. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2005, Mr. Kersman worked at BBVA’s pension fund in Argentina, where he focused on product and business development. He has 20 years of investment and financial services experience and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a J.D. degree from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Alex Wolf
Head of Investment Strategy, Asia, J.P. Morgan Private Bank

Alex Wolf is the Head of Investment Strategy for Asia at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. In this role Alex is responsible for developing and communicating the Private Bank’s view on the market, economy, and geopolitics for investors and clients in the Asia region.

Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Mr. Wolf was the Senior Emerging Markets Economist with Aberdeen Standard Investments responsible for economic analysis and macro investing strategies covering China and global EM. Prior to this he spent ten years with the U.S. Government in roles at the State Department and Defense Department. Most recently, Mr. Wolf served as part of the diplomatic service with overseas postings to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing and the American Institute in Taiwan. His responsibilities included managing a range of economic policy issues including trade and investment negotiations, sanctions implementation, intellectual property rights protection, as well as advising senior officials on macroeconomic issues. Prior to joining the diplomatic service, Mr. Wolf was an officer at the Defense Department working on Asian security and defense policy, where he specialized in Chinese military modernization and North Korea. In addition to his government experience, Mr. Wolf has held roles at Lehman Brothers and Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics.

Mr. Wolf holds degrees in economics from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Pittsburgh and has published extensively on China’s economy, US foreign policy, and North Korea. He resides in Hong Kong and speaks and reads Mandarin Chinese.

Ashish Tiwari
Head of Client Solutions, Americas, PIMCO

Mr. Tiwari is an executive vice president in the Newport Beach office and heads PIMCO’s client solutions efforts in the Americas. In addition, he is the lead product strategist for PIMCO’s global asset allocation and alternative risk premia offerings. As a senior member of PIMCO’s client solutions and analytics group, he focuses on constructing bespoke multi-asset solutions and advises both institutional and high net worth investors. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2008, Mr. Tiwari held roles in investment banking, venture investing, product management, and engineering. He has 19 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette.

Celia Yan, Managing Director, is the Head of China, a co-portfolio manager of the Asia Pacific Private Credit, and is part of the Asian Credit leadership team and Asian Private Credit investment committee. She helps building our regional private credit platform, while sourcing deals and assuming portfolio management responsibilities for private credit investments in China and across Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining Blackrock in 2020, Celia was previously the Head of Greater China with ADM Capital where she joined in 2011. As a senior private credit investor, she led the overall China investment strategy and specialized in sourcing and executing Greater China private credit investments. Prior to that, Celia worked for National Australia Bank in Melbourne, where she advised on complex investment solutions and risk analysis.

Celine Le Cotonnec

Eugenia Koh

Eugenia Koh is Head of Sustainable Investing at Standard Chartered Bank. In her role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the sustainable investing proposition for clients. This includes the ideation, curation and due diligence of sustainable solutions, and partnering with bankers and clients to incorporate sustainable investing strategies into client portfolios. She is also a member of the bank’s global Sustainable Finance Steering Committee.

She has over 10 years of experience in sustainable development from sustainable investing to corporate social responsibility and experimenting with building a social enterprise to support livelihoods in Cambodia. She spent half of her career in banking and the other half in public relations consulting, working with both corporate and NGO clients.

Evrard Bordier

Fan Cheuk Wan

Fan Cheuk Wan is the Chief Investment Officer, Asia for Private Banking and Wealth Management at HSBC. In this role, she is in charge of the Chief Investment Office in Asia, responsible for developing regional investment strategies and themes across all asset classes for private banking and wealth management clients in the region. Ms. Fan is a member of the Global Investment Committee of Private Banking and Wealth Management and Chair of the Regional Investment Committee in Asia. Garth Bregman

Garth is the Head of Investment Services, Asia Pacific for BNP Paribas Wealth Management, responsible for the regional investment services platform.

Before taking on his current position, Garth was Head of Managed Assets, Asia, leading the regional Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) and Contractual Advisory teams. Garth has been based in Singapore since 2012, when he joined as Head of DPM, Asia.

He was previously Head of DPM and Head of Investment Advisory, Wealth Management in London. Jansen Phee

Jansen Phee is the head of Funds Investment Solutions for Asia Pacific at UBS Global Wealth Management. He is also the head of Global Investment Management China. In his first role, Jansen is responsible for UBS GWM’s fund offerings and fund agenda in the region. He is based in Singapore and chairs UBS’s Asia Pacific funds committee and is also a member of its global funds committee. In his other role, Jansen is responsible for UBS GWM’s funds, alternatives, and wealth planning (life insurance and family trust) businesses in onshore China. Jansen previously also headed UBS’s discretionary fixed income and equity teams and was the head of the Singapore and Malaysia Investment Specialist team where he helped advise and structure investment solutions for clients. Ken Kencel

Ken serves as president and CEO of Churchill Asset Management, an investment specialist of Nuveen. Throughout his career in the investment industry, he has accrued a broad range of experience in leading middle market financing businesses.

Previously, Ken served as president and a director of Carlyle GMS Finance (Carlyle’s publicly traded business development company). Prior to that he founded and was president and CEO of Churchill Financial, and served as head of leveraged finance for Royal Bank of Canada as well as head of Indosuez Capital, a leading middle market merchant banking and asset management business. Kevin Russell

Prior to joining BlackRock in September 2020, Mr Chui was with Aberdeen Standard Investments with a focus on analyzing and investing in Chinese stocks. There he managed the All China fund (2015-2017) as well as the flagship A-share equity fund (2017- July 2020). He was most recently Deputy Head of the HK/China Equities team. Paras Anand

During this time, he helped form the women’s network which has over time become Fidelity 4 Everyone and today encompasses the broader D&I agenda including LGBT and remains close to the program as an LGBT ally. Paras is also the co-sponsor of Fidelity’s Corporate Sustainability programme which sets the strategy for improving the organisations performance across all aspects of ESG.

Paras currently lives in Singapore but grew up in the UK. Despite focusing principally on arts subject academically, he became interested in investments through his mother, who was a Japanese Equity fund manager. As Paras started his investment career, he realised having an arts background helped with understanding of market psychology as well as shifts in business dynamics and incorporated this as part of his investment process as a European Equity fund manager.

Paras believes decision making under uncertainty is always done best by developing teams with diverse views leveraging the insights that can come from different backgrounds, different cultures and unique life experiences. Critical to managing diverse teams is creating an environment of psychological safety where individuals feel well supported and are their authentic selves.

Paula Ip

Paula Ip has joined UBS since 2017 and is responsible for investment fund sales and advisory covering Greater China region. Before that, Paula worked in GAM where she was Head of Distribution for APAC. Prior to working at GAM, Paula worked at various asset management companies including ING and Dresdner RCM Global Investors (ie Allianz Global Investors) in the capacity of sales and business development manager. Paula has over 25 years of investment experience covering both buy and sell side in the industry and is a CFA Charterholder.

Stephen B. Jue

Mr. Jue is a portfolio manager, a senior research analyst and a director with Allianz Global Investors, which he rejoined in 2017 after previously working with the firm from 2005 to 2014. He is a member of the Global Technology team and focuses on hardware, networking and software companies. Mr. Jue also assists the team in the management of several technology-specific portfolios. He has 20 years of investment industry experience.

He previously worked at Rainier Investment Management and RBC Capital Markets. Before that, he worked in various marketing, finance and accounting roles with a division of Gillette; he was also a CPA with KPMG.

Mr. Jue has a B.S. in business administration from Northeastern University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Steve Brice
Chief Investment Officer, Standard Chartered Bank Singapore Limited

Steve Brice is the Bank’s Chief Investment Officer and has over 25 years of financial markets experience in senior positions. He leads a team of more than 25 investment professionals and chairs the Bank’s Global Investment Committee, which is responsible for forming the cross-asset investment views for the Private Bank and Retail segments. He is also head of the Discretionary Portfolio Management division.

His previous roles include Chief Economist (SE Asia), Head of Research (Middle East and South Asia) and Head of Global Markets (Southern Africa), all with Standard Chartered Bank. He started his career at I.D.E.A. Ltd, a financial consultancy in London, where he was Regional Head of FX (Europe) before joining SCB. He has a Masters from the University of Liverpool.

Steve’s views are widely sought by both clients and the media. He regularly contributes articles to newspapers and magazines and frequently appears on CNBC and Bloomberg TV and radio.

Steve is based in Singapore and travels frequently around Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East to share his views with both clients and the media. Steve is originally from the UK, but has lived in Asia, Africa and the Middle East for the past 20+ years. Steve is an ardent sports fan focusing on cricket, rugby and Liverpool FC.

Suresh Tantia

Mr. Tantia is a Senior Investment Strategist and a member of the Asia Pacific Investment Committee of Credit Suisse. Together with the CIO, he is responsible for providing thought leadership on bank’s House Views to private banking clients in Asia. He is the lead strategist to formulate investment strategies on equities and advise clients. Mr. Tantia actively shares his market views in the media and is a regular guest speaker at Bloomberg, CNBC and Channel News Asia.

Mr. Tantia started his financial career in 2008 as an Equity research analyst with CRISIL Ltd, a subsidiary of Standard & Poor, based in India. Following that, he joined Credit Suisse Private Banking Research India in 2011 as an Equity analyst. In 2016, Mr. Tantia took over the current role of Senior Investment Strategist, Asia Pacific.

Mr. Tantia graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Economic Honours) from Panjab University, India. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Symbiosis International University (SIU), India with major in Finance.

Mr. Tantia is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and also a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

Mr. William Ma, CAIA, CFA with over 18 years of industry experience, was the Chief Investment Officer of Noah Holdings (NOAH:NYSE) and the Chief Investment Officer of Gopher Asset Management, the asset management arm of Noah. Gopher is the largest multi-asset multi-strategy asset management company in China with USD23 billion AUM and 220 professionals. As CIO of Noah and Gopher, he is responsible for overseeing all investment management, asset allocation and investment products due diligence of combined USD80 billion of asset. He also actively manages the discretionary mandates and China domestic public market funds, and won the prestige Golden Bull Award – Best Domestic Fund of Hedge Funds in China in 2018, Best overseas discretionary China mandates in 2019, as well as numerous awards from InvestHedge, HFM and AsianInvestor.

Mr. Ma was the Foreign Expert QDLP Review Committee Member for the Shanghai Municipal Government Financial Service Department since 2012, the judge panel of Eurekahedge Asian Hedge Fund Awards since 2016, the APAC Committee Member of SBAI (Standard Board of Alternative Investment) since 2019, and Board Member of CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) Association since 2020.

Before joining Noah in 2015, Mr. Ma was the CIO of Gottex Penjing Asset Management (GPAM), the Asia asset management arm of Gottex Fund Management, a Swiss-listed alternative investment management firm with peak AUM of USD22 billion. At GPAM, Mr. Ma managed a team of 20 investment professionals in Asia, and was the lead portfolio manager of all of Gottex’s Asian fund of hedge funds. Prior to joining GPAM in 2012, Mr. Ma was co-founder and Portfolio Manager of Penjing Asset Management managing the industry’s first Asian funds of hedge funds since 2005. Before co-founding Penjing, he worked at Vision Investment Management (Asia) Ltd specializing in Asian hedge funds due diligence. Previously, he served as a research analyst at HT Capital Management Ltd, a Pan Asia Equity Long/Short hedge fund management firm in 2003. Mr. Ma joined the investment industry in Merrill Lynch’s San Francisco office in 2001.

With over 16 years of track record, Mr. Ma won over 16 industry awards: Golden Bull Award – Best overseas discretionary China mandates in 2019, Golden Bull Award – Best Domestic Fund of Hedge Funds in China in 2018, The Asset Triple A Fund Management Award – Manager of the Year (Fund of Hedge Funds) in 2015, HFM Asia Hedge Fund Performance Award – Fund of Hedge Funds Long Term Performance (5 years) Award in 2014, HFMWeek Asia Performance Award – Fund of Hedge Funds Specialist in 2013 and 2012, in addition to multiple awards received from InvestHedge, AsianInvestor and Asia Asset Management between 2004 – 2010.

Mr. Ma received his BEng (EESE) from the University of Hong Kong and his MBA in Finance and E-Commerce from the University of San Francisco and was invited to Peking University in Beijing as an exchange student representative in the Beijing International MBA (BiMBA) program in 2002. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst charterholder, and a member of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts.
